Junior Academy Championship 

Our famous Rob Leonard Junior Golf Championship took place last weekend with 60 juniors aged between 3 years and 12 years old competing. It was a closely fought event with some great scores. I will post the result with the prizes in the next few weeks. However I'm glad to announce our Junior Scores have been a great success. I would like to once again thank Alan Craig for helping me with the design and print of these.

   

 

Sean's Tip of the week 

Sean Brocklehurst our superb greenkeeper popped in the shop this week to have a chat about the course. 

The greenkeepers' are working hard with leaf collection and course repairs. However they do remind golfers to repair all pitch marks as the greens are extremely soft at the moment.

 

JB On TV 

Joshy Boy (JB) our very own TV supports was featured heavily on Sky sports last week playing in the Trilby Tour. He qualified for the final of the Triby Tour which is on Sky Sports next week. Tony Burgess newly appointed MANCO member was on the bag in a very fetching boiler suit. Here is a couple of pictures for the day.

   

 

Pro-Am

Last week I took a team over to Ashridge Golf Club for the Herts Alliance Pro-Am. Like always Ashridge was in great condition and Peter Cherry Head Professional was an extremely welcoming host. The bar has been set very high now so I hope Luke Donald will be able to match this service at The Grove next year at the British Masters. 

I managed to battle the wind and rain to shoot a level par 72 to secure 3rd place individually. Our Team consisting of Josh Emerton, Martin Streets and Laurence Weir together we managed to score an 8 under par total which was very respectable in the conditions but not quite good enough to get into the prizes. However we all had a lovely day. 

The final event of the year is at Letchworth Golf Club next Friday. I am still after 2 more players if you are interested in playing please message me here.

 

Presentation Evening 

The annual Harpenden Common Golf Club presentation evening was last week. This is a fantastic event with everyone letting their hair down, the normal service for the evening is for the winners to fill their trophies with champagne.

Also as the night proceed here is Richard Willett, Phil Heath, Ray St George (President) and Bob Coomber sampling a speciality drink from the Bar thanks Ian Farrent!A great night was had by all.

This year we are going to do something a bit different for the Christmas Draw. We are going to sell tickets at £10 each with only 1 winner. This winner will get 12 seconds in the shop to grab as much or what product they want. 

The product needs to be out of the shop at the end of the 12 seconds to allow the lucky winner to keep it. They will be able to get as much as they want. 

It is basically the golf clubs version of supermarket sweep. Come in the shop to get your ticket!
