Ladies Club Championship 

Congratulations to Karen Ellam for winning the ladies club championship this week with a score of 81 & 83 beating Sarah topping who scored 88 & 83. Francis Kipping won the best nett with a nett 147 beating Sheila Brocket by two shots. Congratulations to everyone who played as the day proved very tricky conditions due to the very strong wind.

Scratch Team 

Well done to the scratch team who won a tough contest against a strong Sandy Lodge team at home on Saturday 6.6-5.5.

Paul Fox Day 

Despite the terrible weather the day went ahead with great success. The brave golfers battled the elements to ensure a great day went ahead for a brilliant cause. Over 70 golfers took party in the day and further guests join us the evening to continue the day long into the night. A big thank you to everyone that took part and a special mention to Don Engstrom for organising the day.

   

Well Done Tollef 

Well done to Tollef Ellam who won his division at Essenden Junior Open on Sunday. He shot a fantastic nett 70 in tough conditions again. Keep up the good work Tollef!



Junior Academy: BATTLESHIPS! 

Battleships is favourite game that we play with the children in the Junior Academy. The game helps to improve alignment, target practice and weight of shot. We split the group into two teams and giving them team names or colours. Then we mark out 2, 4 or 6 circles in the colours of their teams to use as targets. These are then our battleships. It is then the aim of the children to fire the balls or rockets into the other team's battleships. We scatter the targets at different distances and angles so to ensure there isn't any straight easy shots. Similar too many of us on the golf course! 

This helps the children work on their alignment and making sure that they are hitting in the right direction. By hitting to different distances of targets this allows the children to learn how to control their shots and realise a full shot is not always needed for the best results. The first team to get 3 balls in all of the opponent's battleships wins!
