Lesson Success - Matt McGratton

Here is one to watch out for the future. Matt is currently playing off an 8 handicap trying to break through to category 1. He was struggling with a pulled shot to the left of the target, so we had a look at his swing and here are the results. 

As you can see in the before and after pictures, he gets the club slightly too upright or steep, then as a result at the top of the back swing his club becomes laid off or pointing to the left of the target. 

   

What we have been working on is getting the club 'on plane'. Matt was hitting the ball really consistently and said 'it feels good and not too unnatural'.

Scratch Team 

Last week's Scratch match was against Berkhamstead Golf Club. As always a tough team to beat, with a steady 2-2 after the foursomes rounds it was all to play for. Unfortunatly the rain arrived for the afternoon rounds but the mighty Common managed a 6-6 draw. This still puts us in good contention for the league with our away matches left a bit later on in the year.
