Pro Shop Challenge

Sunday was finally the day for our Pro Shop Challenge. We spent a while preparing for this day and all worked hard fine-tuning our golf to be hopefully victorious. The weather was great for the day and we had a great turn out of 20 teams playing.

Our team was made up of Rob, Ryan and Louis. We all tried to play our best but couldn’t quite get the result we wanted. We were -10 after 14 holes which was good and we needed a couple more birdies to be happy with our score but only managed to finish par, par, bogey, par to finish -9.

However, this was a great score still and only 3 teams beat our score. We would have loved to have won though by just finishing with a birdie not a bogey!

1st - Alex Turner, Ashely Burgess, Simon Hankin - 59.7

2nd - Graham Pollard, Jeremy Page, Marcos Bland - 60.2

3rd - Andy Sexton, Paul Foley, Martin Topping - 60.9

The winners each won £60 and second place each won £30. The other team that beat us each won a 30 minute simulation session in The Tour Shed as they were the only other team to beat the Pro’s!

We also had some nearest the pins and a longest drive out on the course. Winners and their prizes are below.

Saturday Medal and Hunting Trophy

Saturday was the last monthly bookable medal of the year. There were some great scores and a brilliant turn out. We had 128 people play which is fantastic and the lowest nett of the day was from Anthony Ratcliff who had a nett 64, well done Anthony!

By creating a plan you can see clearly what you are going to be working on in your lessons. Your lesson plans can work towards targets and goals that you want to reach, whether that be reducing your handicap by 5 shots or improving your putts per round.

Ex-demo wedges and our new Mizuno wall

In the shop at the moment we have a range of ex-demo wedges. Brands include Mizuno, PING and TaylorMade. All the wedges are listed at £75 which is very cheap as they all would normally be £120. This is a huge saving, especially as some of them are still brand new anyway. Come and get yours now before they all go!

They've done it again...

When a product has been the centre of a range for over a decade you know it must be pretty special, right? We certainly think so and it can be said of the Srixon AD333 golf ball, which is now into its ninth generation.

Battle of the irons

Before we pit these two beauties against one another, have a think about how good your bad shots are? It's a bit of an oxymoron, but are they disastrous and leading to big scores or are they less penal and still go somewhere around the green?
