Louis' pick of the week - Titleist DT TruSoft Balls Titleist know how to make great golf balls and have been doing it for years. They make sure they continue to make some of the best balls in the game and continue to claim #1 ball in golf. They make balls for every level of golfer with their Pro V1 and Pro V1x being used on every professional tour across the world! My pick of the week this week is the new Titlist DT TruSoft ball, and this is for several reasons. Now this ball is one of Titleist entry level golf ball and is one of the cheapest balls they make. This however certainly doesn’t mean it’s not a good ball. I’ve used this ball for a couple rounds now and can’t believe the feel of the ball but also the distance the ball travels. Titleist claim that this ball is the softest feeling ball they make and provides superior distance. Distance is not something that is normally paired with the softer golf balls, but Titleist have manged to pair distance and softness to make the golf ball perfect for low spinning long shots producing great distance and increased short game spin for stopping the ball on the greens. This is certainly something I noticed while playing with this ball, hitting it long of the tee but still being able to fire chips into the green knowing the ball is going to stop up. Titleist have been able to produce this great pairing of distance and softness through the new ball core and covering. The TruTouch core is what gives the ball its great distance through being a low compression core which is larger than normal which generates the low spin for longer distances. Then the TruFlex cover utilizes proprietary Titleist technology to allow the ball to feel very soft around the greens and on approach shots to allow improved short game performance. Both of these elements of the ball work together to provide best in class performance for your game in distance and softer feeling control around the greens. An added benefit of this ball which is why this ball makes it my pick of the week is the price point. These golf balls are fantastic for any golfer for distance and short game performance and for only £19.99 a dozen everyone needs to try them for themselves to see just how good they are. Make sure you come in the shop this week to try them out yourself and let me know what you think!
