Captains Day

What a fantastic day we all had at the Club last Saturday in the 2017 Captain's Day. Thanks has to go to all the volunteers that ball spotted and helped in the halfway hut and Kevin for organising a fun packed day. The format for the day was stableford full handicap with a shot gun start at 8am and 2pm, it was a full field with 190 players competing. The winners were as follows...

There were some fantastic scores all day, but well done to the winners. After the presentation, we had a golf trick shot show which was with Dean Davis. He was very good fun and here are some pictures.

   

   

   

Don Hole In One

Last week Past captain Don Engstrom had a hole in one on the 18th in The Seniors' Club Championship. He hit a pure 7 iron which was looking good all the way, one bounce and straight in the hole. This helped him win the Nett Seniors' Championship.

The Gross winner was David Boggon with a gross 77 and Steve Saperia and Brian MacDonald 2nd and third.

Well done to all.

Pro-Am Opportunity

George LittleJohn, our Academy Director, is offering Harpenden Common members a chance to join him in an East Region Pro-Am at Brookmans Park Golf Club. This event is on Friday 21st July and requires three players.

I would recommend everyone having a gapping test as we will be able to tell you exactly how far you hit each of your clubs, not only total distance, but how far the ball travels in the air as well, perfect for making sure you land the ball on the green.

This will also help you use your GPS unit correctly.
