Jubilee Trophy Results
Last Saturday we had the Jubilee Trophy which is a stableford competition. There were some fantastic scores especially from Lawson Elliot, but maybe some of the credit is down to his new custom fit driver that he purchased last week from the shop. Well done Lawson the results are here.
1st Lawson Elliott 41 Points 2nd Craig Delves 38 Points 3rd Kevin Moffat 38 Points 4th Duncan Taylor 37 Points 5th Andrew Poradzisz 36 Points 6th Tony Burgess (IIPC) 36 Points
The Twos winners were Bob Coomber, Brian Macdonald, Stan Simpson, Kevin Moffat, Jerry Ejikeme, Ashley Burgess and Kevin Lavell; all winning five Pro V1s per two.
Twos winners from last week
A special mention goes to Mike Gillis for being the sole winner of the Midweek Medal twos competition winning 1 dozen Pro V1s. Well done Mike and as you can see he is happy to accept the prize.
Halsey Trophy
The Bank Holiday Monday Mixed Competition saw The Halsey Trophy take place with nearly 50 people playing. Well done to the winners who were Richard Willet and Shelia Brockett.
Lads Trip Away
I caught up with John Benns and Roger Courtnell last week and I really enjoyed hearing about their exciting trip to see our Immediate Past Captain Don Engstom. Don has moved to South Africa and by these stunning pictures it looks like he is having a great time. Don will be back soon and I personally am looking forward to have a few holes with him.
Club Team Shirts
We have just taken delivery or our latest order of team shirts. So if you have ordered one and haven't picked it up yet, it will be ready for you in the pro shop to collect at £15.
Junior Easter Camps 2017
Down to the hard work of our academy director George Littlejohn this year's Easter camps have been a massive success and even bigger and better than last year with a great turn out of kids per day (each getting an Easter egg), leaning and having fun with golf hopefully pursuing it further in the future!
Greenkeepers' Update
The greenkeepers have been really busy this week improving the course as always. Here are some of the pictures from their work on the 12th fairway bunker and the 16th greenside bunker. They have been edging, re-levelling and adding more sand to the bunkers and I think they look great.
Greenkeepers' Lesson
As the previous newsletter stated the greenkeepers are really getting into their golf and they even had a group lesson with me last week.
I think it is a great idea for the guys to get a golfer's perspective out on the course and I am sure this will only help the overall condition.
Guess Who?
For this week's trivia one of our team obviously goes a little further when it comes to skin care.
Anyway, I have managed to get hold of a picture with a member of staff with a face mask on.
Who is it?
The first 5 people to get the correct answer will win a Coffee each.
