Third was Chris Harvey with Charlse Schwartzel winning a Mizuno Carry Bag.
Pro Am VGC
I have a great opportunity with an East Region Pro Am at Verulam Golf Club on Friday, 5 May. It will be a great event with breakfast, lunch, 18 hole prizes and entertainment. If you would like to participate or you would like to entertain clients this is the perfect opportunity. This event would require 3 team members, you do not have to be a member to play in this event with myself.

Picture the scenario...
You have a round of golf with the family planned and you're keen to impress. As you had some free time the day before, you decide to come down the club and play some holes to get rid of any rust in your game. When you come off the final green your electric trolley starts to play up and cuts out by the time you get to the car park.
You start to fear the worst as you push it round to the pro shop as you might have to cancel the game with your family the following day. A member of the team inspects your trolley and tells you it's in need of a service but we won't have it ready in time for your game tomorrow.
This is where our Courtesy Cart comes in… Whilst your trolley is in with us for a service we can now offer you our Courtesy Cart to use the following day when you play, meaning you can take to the course with the family as planned. Panic over. It's a fantastic benefit that we're delighted to provide for our members, so if you're thinking of buying an electric trolley this year then you'll certainly have peace of mind thanks to this new service.
Greenkeepers On The Course I had a Herts PGA knockout last week, and during the round it was great to see the Greenkeepers out on the course having a few holes.
Here they are enjoying the sun. They also have a lesson booked in this week so I will update you with how they got on.
Presidents Trophy
Last weekend we had a busy weekend of competitions with first up with the Presidents Trophy. This competition was a pairs betterball competition. The course is improving every day, it was perfect conditions for getting out on the course. Our manager Terry Crump partnered with Jerry Ejikeme managed to win the Trophy with 45 points well done to both of you. I am sure Terry had some extra course knowledge! Results were as follows;
1st Terry Crump & Jerry Ejikeme 45 points 2nd Noel Johnson & Mark Holland 44 points 3rd Matt Mcgrattan & James Day 44 points 4th Andrew Poradzisz & Gary Forsyth 43 points 5th Amin Dalton & Steve Hallam 43 points
The Twos Sweep winners were Matt Mcgrattan, John Dickinson, Nigel Plain, Daren Davies and John Coelho winning 5 Pro V1 balls per two. Well done to all.
Deeks Trophy
We also had the Deeks Trophy which was a singles stableford. The Holland family are performing really well in all competitions currently with James winning last week and Mark and Paul having great results in this competition. However, Dave Carter took the Trophy with a great score of 43 points well done to all results are as follows;
1st Dave Carter 43 points 2nd Mark Holland 39 points 3rd Paul Holland 39 points 4th David Thompson 38 points 5th Chris Harvey 38 points
The Twos Sweep was only won by Dave Carter and Keith Davies winning seven Pro V1s each, well done!
Junior Match The Junior Team had their first match of the year against Bushey Hall Golf Club last Sunday in the fantastic weather. The team have got off to a great start winning 4-3. Well done boys, hopefully you've set the standard for the year.
Easter Camp
We had the first week of the Junior Golf Academy Easter Camp. It was a great success with all the children learning more about the game, improving life skills and also having lots of fun! Here they are and well done George for organising some fantastic games.
Lesson Success
I had a lesson with one of our popular members Bob Coomber last week. Bob has recovered from injury and wanted to improve his consistency. As you can see in his first picture the club is in the 'laid off position', this is where at the top of the swing the club points to the left.
However, with a little bit of work we got him a lot more down the line of the target shown in the second picture. Good luck Bob keep up the good practice.
Battery Trade In
With summer just starting, the golfing season is picking up rapidly and nothing could spoil golf more at this time of year other than a failed trolley battery and having to push your heavy equipment around the remaining holes in the heat.
In the shop we are giving everyone the opportunity to avoid this with our lithium battery offer!
Receive £25 OFF of a brand new Motocaddy battery when trading in your old battery, no matter how old or weathered it may be.
This will be a limited time offer so don't miss out on it!
