Last Saturday we had the Monthly Medal with over 100 people playing. Well done to the money winners.

2nd James Holland Nett 68
3rd Tony Peacock Nett 68

Division 2

2s Sweep

The winners of the twos sweep were Martin Brooks 16th, Alex Williams 5th, Chris Hindle 4th and 18th

Well done with each '2' being worth 9 Pro V1 golf balls.

Also, for last week's medal we went a step further as Kevin Moffat was the sole winner of the twos sweep, he won a whole dozen Pro V1 balls!

He's pictured here collecting his prize.

A special well done goes to Brian Luckhurst and James Holland, both had a lesson with me last week and with both coming 2nd in their divisions, I am a very happy coach this week! Goes to show having a lesson will improve you.

Team Shirts

The club have been extremely generous and decided to subsidise the cost of a team member shirt. The club have chosen a Glenmuir Red shirt to be the club colour, and these shirts will cost you £15 .

If you play in a team weather it is a club match, senior section, mixed, tigers etc. please pop into the Pro shop and try a shirt on so we can order. Once we have all the team members sizes we will place the order.

Thank you to the club for the support.

Success story

Josh's Corner - Epic Gains

Last week I had a booking for a driver fitting. The gentlemen in question had a 5-year old Callaway Driver, and was averaging his distance at around 190 Yards, but he wanted more consistency and distance.

We started by trying the New Callaway Epic driver and from the first ball we saw a massive difference, not only in distance but in ball speed. After a few shots with the Epic driver we tried a few others such as the Callaway XR, PING G & Mizuno JPX 900. We couldn't get close to the Epic's figures.

By the picture I have added you can see that there is no difference in swing speed between the two drivers, yet the ball speed has increased by 4 MPH. This is due to the Jail Break technology, which fuses the crown and sole together to make the head more stable at impact.

On his best strike we managed to get 222 yards out of the Epic driver. That's 30 yards gained with the same swing speed and exactly the same golf ball brand.

I have had a lot of people be very sceptical about this new Epic driver, many of you not sure if the Jail Break can actually help with ball speeds, assuming it's just another marketing tool. Well I have seen proof that this technology works and by giving a customer an extra 30 yards I feel this is one of the best drivers on the market.

As we are committed to getting the best for your game we always suggest being fully custom fit for your clubs

To book your fitting, please contact Josh directly here or for more information click here.

Do You Need New Grips?

What Makes The Grip Such An Important Part Of The Golf Club?

"The grip is the only part of the club a golfer actually touches. Often overlooked but in fact it is extremely important. Replacing one's grips at the beginning of every season allows the golfers to hold the grip with minimal grip pressure which allows them to swing the club properly with acceleration. One simply cannot do this with grips that are glazed, hard, and slick."

"Worn grips become harder as a function of time and use and thus the grip's responsiveness changes, as does the level of comfort. In a nutshell, new grips provide both confidence and performance. Think about it like tyres on a car. Would you drive a car with smooth tires with zero tread? No. The same can be said for golf clubs and grips."

What Benefits Will Players Get From A Fresh Set Of Grips?

"The benefits are endless. Increased traction, more tackiness, better performance in wet weather, comfort, less tension in your hands resulting in smoother swings. And ultimately all these benefits lead to lower scores and more enjoyable golf."

How Can A Player Tell They Need New Grips And How Many Rounds Would You Expect A Set Of Grips To Last?

"That's easy. Visually examine the grip. Does it look shiny or glazed? Does the material show visible wear spots? Does the material appeared cracked or split? Does the material feel rock hard? Is the paint or cosmetics rubbed off the grip? Does the end cap look worn? How many rounds of golf do you have on the grip? We tell people grips need to be changed every 40 rounds or once a year. Just because a grip doesn't look worn does not mean it is not."

If you are interested in a new set of grips come in the shop for a quick fitting to obtain the correct size, after this we can then discuss the right type of grip to suit your game before finally we can fit them while you wait.

While Stock Lasts!

We are offering a fantastic deal on the Black Widow grips. Re-grip your whole set of clubs (max 13) for £40 ! We only have a limited number of grips left so be quick to avoid disappointment.
