Monthly Medal
Last week in great weather we had the Monthly Medal including the Medal Winner Trophy. The Medal Winners Trophy is played for by previous monthly medal winners. Noel Nichols came out on top of this year's Medal Winners Trophy from Brian Macdonald on countback with a nett 71. Well done Noel.
Also another highlight was Harry Toppings fantastic 72 gross to have a 65 nett. Harry is the Junior Vice captain and has been playing really well he also represented Harpenden Common with fellow juniors Sam Morley and Charlie Ellam in the Boys championship at Mid Herts Golf Club last Monday. Keep up the good golf boys. Here are the winning scores from the Monthly Medal.

Captain Pro
The Captain and I played Laurence Weir and Keith Howard this week. Iit was a fantastic match. It was great to see the new bunkers on the 12th and 13th.
The captain and I were 1 up coming to the 18th off the back tees Keith made a fantastic birdie two tying the match.
We are Looking forward to the next one.
Talking about the bunkers I had a go at playing a bunker shot from the bunker on 13.
It's a very impressive bunker.

Josh Emerton Charity Golf Day
On the 26th of August Harpenden common will be holding a charity golf day in aid of keech hospice care.
The day includes bacon roles on arrival then 18 holes as a team with some great prizes up for grabs and a light lunch after your round £50 per entry or £200 for a whole team of 4.
Harpenden common had a few groups of members away on holiday last week.
The first group pictured went to Scotland and somehow managed to come back sun burnt which is unheard of!
They had a great time and played some great courses including the old course at St. Andrews.

Thankfully they were nowhere near the trouble in France however it did take them 5 hours to get through security.
