Matts Bio
I started playing golf at the age of 8 and by the age of 14 I played for Hertfordshire county, finished playing for county at 16 and have been dedicated to my golf since. Other than lots of practice I gain the most enjoyment from helping others to play better golf, it's the most rewarding part for me. I aim, in the next few years, to gain my qualification as a fully qualified PGA professional and hope to build a diverse satisfied clientele. I play my golf with a full set of Titleist irons and woods, using a TaylorMade Ghost putter. My favourite golfer has to be Ernie Els because of how relaxed he is under pressure.

Mizuno Fitting Day
On Wednesday the 25th of May we were exceptionally lucky to have our local mizuno rep down on the range offering members the chance to try out the latest clubs and see how they perform against their own brands. Using trackman technology and a large selection of different heads and shafts, our members will able to be fitted for the exact specifications that suited their swing and game with an undoubtedly great improvement to scoring. Each individual was given the chance to place orders on their exact specifications, these fitting days are a great opportunity to have a go with the latest equipment.
Kevin Moffat Wedge Fitting
Kevin had his wedges fitted earlier on this week and experienced great improvements to his wedge game, having your wedges fitted can make the difference between converting a great drive into a birdie or just making an up and down. Often, with lots of use our wedges will gradually change lofts over time and you may be wondering why you're struggling in this area of the game, no problem, as we offer a gapping test for only £25 in the pro shop.

We were fortunate enough to host a coaching session at Harpenden Common Golf Club this week for Heathland School which is a school for deaf children.
It was great fun and the school have now set up an ongoing session.
The third week of the Junior Golf Academy saw the children working on their full swing and finish position. It's so vital to finish your swing, nicely balanced and under control. The juniors soon found out when they didn't finish in a balanced finish, they hit some erratic shots compared to when they held their finish.
Next time your out on the course try and complete your finish and hold it for at least 5 seconds, you may find this helps with the consistency of your strikes.
