Gapping of the week
Last week Josh took Gill for a Gapping session to find out if there is any yardage gaps in her irons. Her irons were great with the distances progressing through the set, however with the woods we found some quite large gaps.
Gill has booked into our Callaway Fitting Day next week to see if we can make them gaps progress from the irons through to woods.
New member of the team Chris Foster
Hi I'm Chris 26 years old. Currently a 5 handicap golfer. I play on the European disabled tour and 2 years ago I was the European championship winner.
In the near future I want to turn professional so that he can pass on his experience and knowledge to new amputee golfers, in doing so would become the first amputee golfer to turn professional playing without wearing a prosthetic leg. Another aspiration of Chris' is to represent Great Britain at the Paralympics when golf is finally accepted into the Paralympic programme, hopefully by Tokyo 2020.
I look forward to meeting you all and passing on my knowledge & passion in golf.
Ladies Roll Up
The ladies roll up classes began this Thursday and Saturday with a great turn out for both sessions! The sessions are aimed to improve the ladies golf each week, varying the aspect we work on. The sign-up sheets are in the ladies changing room and are open for all ladies looking to improve their golf.
The first week, we worked on chipping from around the green, giving the ladies some technical advice on setup and shot selection.
This week we will be working on driving the golf ball, so if any ladies feel they need to brush up on this part of their game, put your name down on the sign-up sheets. Time and dates are as follows:
Thursday 3rd March 12pm-1pm Thursday 3rd March 1.15pm-2.15pm Saturday 5th March 2.30pm-3.30pm
This week in the Rob Leonard Junior Golf Academy the sessions were focused on creating and playing your own par 3 course.
The children had great fun designing the course using different coloured cones making them aware what is required on a golf hole.
We also introduced some important etiquette and behaviour points which allowed the children to have the most fun whilst keeping safe. BR>Click here with your answers..

Mizuno DNA Custom Fitting
Sometimes devices come along and change the way we teach, play, or custom fit.
The latter has just been changed by a quite staggering piece of kit - the 'Mizuno swing DNA + shaft optimiser.'
Ok, it sounds complicated… so what does it do? Well, it's all about giving you an amazing custom fit experience…
Step 1
You have three swings with the 'DNA' club. This club has numerous sensors to tell us exactly which shafts will best suit your game. It's picking from 65 of the best makes of shaft on the market… 65 is a huge amount, meaning it's accuracy in finding something to match your swing is astonishing. When I tell you Mizuno have struck a deal so that all these shafts are available at no upcharge (even graphite), it should excite you even more!
Step 2
After plugging in your scoring details, handicap, average score etc, we now get another list. This time it's of the recommended heads for you to play.
Step 3
We check the lie you require, take some measurements, and discuss which grip type and size would suit you best. We use the SkyTrak to check distances, spin rates, height of shot etc.
Step 4
The App then gives us a full run down of what lofts it would recommend for each club. We discuss this and make changes as we see fit. The SkyTrak will give us exact height-of-shot figures to aid this process.
Step 5
See above for what the final suggestion looks like:
The truly remarkable thing about this device is the way it finds the correct shaft for your game in under a minute. I can't explain how much you should take advantage of us having this here! The swing optimiser, combined with the SkyTrak and our expertise really means we will be giving some of the best custom fitting sessions available. As a final bonus - When coming for a fitting, we use all of this technology for only £25 .
To book a fitting, contact me here and be one of the first players to use the SkyTrak/DNA Optimiser/HCGC team combo. Simply the Best Combination!!
Remember we custom fit: Mizuno, Callaway, PING, Titleist, Odyssey and Lynx.
Why go anywhere else?
You may have questioned why have I put a putter brand in for custom fitting as well... We can also fit for putters using you eye line and putter path we can fit you to the optimum putter as well. Full range of the new Odyssey, PING and Lynx putters available.
Making us the all-round best club!

Radlett Lodge
As you all know I do several disabled coaching classes within the local area.
Here are some pictures of the children at Radlett lodge school which is an autistic school, it's great to see them all having lots of fun!!
Here they are.
Last week's trivia we had baby pictures of us three team members at HCGC so A, Rob Leonard B, Josh Emerton C, George Littlejohn.
This week's Trivia is about Chris our new member of the Professional staff. He is obviously a great golfer playing off a 5 handicap. However what is his average driver distance? If you get the exact distance there is a £30 voucher to be spent in the shop! If no one gets the correct distance the closest guess will win 2 sleeves of Pro V1's.

We do like a bit of visual technology - and that's exactly what you get with these new shoes. However, the 'cage' isn't just for show, you just have to try a pair on. Not only are they extremely comfortable, something you always get from ECCO, but they feel great through the swing. |
